America will celebrate the 238th anniversary of their country’s independence today. The various festivities in Washington include people enacting the historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and John Adams who will also read the Declaration of Independence. There will be fireworks all over and everyone will be raising a toast to celebrate the Independence Day.

Small and mid-sized hotels are also offering discounted packages and large screen experiences to witness the celebrations.

Orbitz is also running a summer hotel sale, with discounts such as 50 percent off at Caribbean resorts and 40 percent off hotels in Europe.

Travelocity is advertising last-minute air-and-hotel packages under $250.

With the Fourth of July falling on a Friday this year, there are bigger celebrations all over the US and a lot of travelers enjoying the long weekend. Hotels and flights are making the most of it and travelers are happy to get the additional discounts. It’s a win-win situation for all.
