The Canadian Tourism & Hospitality Institute (CTHI), Philippines has selected Hotelogix property management system to train hospitality management students across various departments. This initiative was taken to equip the students with new-age technology that is used in the hospitality industry.
Hotelogix offers property management services on cloud to small independent hotels worldwide. The software is used by multiple property types like boutique hotels, B&Bs, hostels, resorts and serviced apartment in 85+ countries.
Mabeth Quirante, Lecturer & Career Assistance Officer at CTHI is of the opinion that the students need to adapt to the technical skills before venturing into the tourism and hospitality industry. She feels Hotelogix is the easiest system to get started with that has good functionality and comes with a centralized management system. Thus, Hotelogix was a natural choice to be included in the course. “The system will encourage advanced technical skills among students entering the hospitality workforce. Since these professionals of tomorrow will have trained using a premier cloud system, they will set foot in the industry more confidently and prepared,” says Mabeth.
She further adds, “Since Hotelogix is web based, our students and I can work on required exercises at any time and any place that has internet access.”
Mabeth strongly feels that Hotelogix PMS should be used by other hospitality institutes too to train their staff and students. “I personally think Hotelogix is an ideal product, especially for schools as it provides all the fundamentals of what a hospitality student should learn for Reservations,
Front Desk, Housekeeping and F&B – POS functions.” “Our students are actually having fun using it – they get to feel how it is to be a Front Office agent.” chuckles Mabeth.
CTHI has implemented Hotelogix in its Diploma, Certificate and Professional Development courses.
Hotelogix will provide the staff and students of CTHI real-time access to its support team in order to stay up-to-date with the new features or to clarify their doubts.
Technology is growing at a rapid pace and to match the new-age travelers’ expectations, hotels are investing in modern technology. The bigger chunk comprises of the mid-scale chains that spend 6.6% when compared to the 3.5% at the economy and luxury ends of the market. (Source: Hotel Lodging Technology). Students who will join this hospitality workforce in the future need to be well-equipped with the latest technology to stay competitive.
Hotelogix, being a cloud based property management system is agile and responds to newer market demands. Whether it is review media sites, revenue management or accounting systems; Hotelogix PMS integrates seamlessly. With such capabilities, institutes can be assured that they are training their students with the best in the industry.
CTHI is the second training institution after New Brunswick Community College in Canada that has selected Hotelogix PMS to train its students.
